It was a long wonderful eventful summer, a time when you are exposed to sun, extreme heat (lots of extreme heat in New York this year!). You’re also subjected to all that’s in the air that attracts to your skin like a magnet: salt water, pool water, “fresh” water, dirt, sand, leaves, oils and especially sweat. Now that the summer season is winding down, it’s time for a quick break, a little quiet, and a little time to rejuvenate and re-energize just before you squeeze every moment of enjoyment until it’s time to put on that fall jacket. Your wallet may need a break, too, so instead of spending a lot to go to an Away Spa or a Day Spa, spend a little to turn your bathroom into a Stay Spa, Try this:
Aromatherapy: use products with ingredients derived from nature: herbs, flowers, extracts from tree bark and leaves. Peppermint, rosemary, jasmine, orange peel are so effective. Candles with natural oils can be relaxing, too.
Soothing Baths: bath salts ease tired, achy muscles after your new workout routine. A bath of powdered milk gets rid of dry, ashy skin. Add fresh herbs, plant extracts and oils mentioned above to your bath.
Skin/body Treatments: exfoliate your skin with scrubs purchased from the spa you visited or a sea salt scrub made at home.
And when your Stay Spa session is done, don’t forget to moisturize! Winter is coming!
Repeat throughout the year for a continuously healthy mind, body and soul.
