Before Cleansing Our Face

(You Know To Do It Before Applying Makeup, Right?)

Is it not obvious? We are so careful with babies. We puree fresh natural vegetables for them, dress them in clean clothing. We don’t want them to get sick or get infections through contact with our dirty hands. But we forget to be careful with our own faces! You should not assume that because you’re cleansing your face that your hands will get clean while doing it. Always touch your face with clean hands through each stage of your #skincare regimen.

Hopefully everyone knows not to touch their eyes without washing hands. Think of the irritations and infections that can get in the eyes. The same precaution should be made in all stages of the skincare regimen! Spa aestheticians are supposed to wash their hands before they poke at your blemishes and pores, and so should you! Wash your hands well!

Makes sense when you think about it! With your fingers all over your face, eyes, nose and mouth, you have to wash your hands before applying makeup. And if a makeup artist is the one enhancing your beautiful features, don’t be shy to ask them to wash their hands first, too. Also before you go to makeup part of your morning, start with a clean face. Yes, wash your hands before cleansing your skin! Doesn’t sound like you need to, considering you’re going to cleanse your face? The first step in a skincare regimen is to not smear on more bacteria from your hands that have been touching things all day or night. One more thing: you’re not cleansing your face with used unclean washcloths either, correct?
