Nothing is more soothing than floating in a body of water. Nothing is more invigorating than doing laps in the pool. It goes without saying that when you exit the water, you won’t be getting out alone. Salts, chlorine and/or other chemicals (depending on where you swim) come out of the water with you, and if left to dry on your skin, it can dehydrate or cause worse skin issues. A quick rinse doesn’t do the job.
Watch:
Use gentle cleansers and gently wash your face. Do not scrub when cleansing; it’ll cause tiny tears in the skin!
Also, don’t forget that the scalp is skin. Shampoos and conditioners can drip down onto your face, neck and back. The foaming shampoos are meant for the hair, which is dead as it grows out of the head, but the formulas can be harsh on skin, strip skin of protective oils or prevent the oils from slaying on the skin. Make sure to thoroughly rinse shampoos off to avoid breakouts from the shampoo ingredients.
Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel.
See a dermatologist for stubborn issues.
